Will White

After completing an Art Foundation Course at The Central School of Art, Will White studied a degree in Interior Design at Kingston University and then spent five years with Pierre d’Avoine Architects. Since then he has worked as an independent designer for over 25 years.

This period of study and work experience was an extensive review of 20C and past architecture, design and art, exploring the languages and detail from all periods, the past as interesting and relevant as contemporary.

Clients are mainly from the creative and media areas of design/ fashion/ arts/ film and entrepreneurial fields. Introduction to projects through recommendation and often on a number of projects for the same clients, over long periods of time and different locations.

Design is an immersive process with a constant dialogue of discussion. A successful project can be extremely subtle, expressed by a feeling of balance and flow of space and light, with very specific attention to detail; or with dynamic unusual elements which form a thread of architectural language.

Earlier works include art galleries, live/work spaces and residential. A major commission for a new build house with swimming pool and other facilities followed, and more recently projects have concentrated on residential refurbishment often requiring total reorganisation and upgrading with particular attention to detail, creating modernised environments to inhabit.
